Glastullich Farm
GLASTULLICH FARM: Helicopter base, possibly later Landing Ground?
The local 1975 map was provided by Mr Graham Frost. The local view and area view are from my Google Earth© derived database.
Operated by: Mr William K Macgillivray, once trading as Heli-Highland Ltd
Location: Probably (?), S of the A9, NE of Milton village, about 3nm S to SSE of Tain town centre
Period of operation: Unknown? Possibly from mid 1990s?
NOTES: I will regard this listing as a query rather than being a definitive answer. We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide;, to thank for pointing out this location, even though I am not convinced about the exact location. This said, the main object of this 'Guide' is to provide proof of a flying site. As always, if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
To date (October 2026) I can find only two helicopters being registered to Heli-Highland Ltd. These being the Westland-Bell 47G-3B-1 Sioux AH1, G-BEWJ, from 02.07.1996 until 09.01.1997. Then a long gap until the Bell 47G-5, G-ALHCI was registered from 14.09.2010 until 03.12.2018. This then being re-registered to Mr Macgillivray as G-HUGB from 03.12,2018 until 21.09.21.
What is also interesting, as Graham points out, is that the Zenair CH701UL, G-BZVA, was also registered at this address by Mr Macgillivray from 08.05 2018. So, is it based here, or does it just visit perhaps?
