The third picture shows how ALSCOT PARK fits with RAF STRATFORD

Location:  On the WW2 RAF STRATFORD airfield

Period of operation:  From the early 2000s (?) to -

Runway:  07/25   970   grass

NOTES:  Probable base for the Beech 18 G-BKGM? It is quite likely just an age thing, but for me as a lad in the 1950s this type was a dream machine. In its class after it first flew in 1937, the Beech Model 18 or C-45 Expeditor as it became known in USAAF military service during WW2, really was a fabulous design. I can still drool over looking around one even today.

I am fairly certain that during the 1950s and 1960s I had only seen pictures. In more recent years of course, along with so many other 'warbirds', there are several examples in the UK.
