AYLMERTON: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s 1933 No.2 Tour of the UK
 

Location: Church Farm in or near Aylmerton 2.5nm SW of Cromer

Period of operation: 16th & 17th August 1933

 

NOTES: Was this also the venue used again on the 12th July 1935 when Cobham’s No.1 Tour visited Cromer?

Yes Aylmerton had a temporary airfield on our farm in 1933 & 1935 when the flying Circus visited. Film footage in British Pathe newsreel. The house still stands and the airfield remains the same grassland.
