BAILEY'S FARM: Temporary aerodrome
This picture is from my Google Earth© derived database and only shows the location of May's Lane, with a guesstimate of the location. Barnet was in HERTFORDSHIRE until 1965.

Location: Unknown to date? The address for Bailey's Farm was Mays Lane, Barnet, and this is quite a long road leading roughly WSW from Barnet town centre. I suspect that the location of Bailey's Farm might well be within the expanded suburbs of Barnet after WW2.

Having made the initial listing I then contacted Mike Holder, a great long-term friend of this 'Guide', to ask if he could kindly have a look at the subject - and was astonished at the resulting response. Not least his findings that although commonly known as BAILEY'S FARM, it now appears that the location was actually Whitings Hill Farm owned by a Mr Bailey! Was pleased to see that my guesstimate of the probable location in the picture above, (which I had captioned as May's Lane), wasn't too far out. This said, as Mike points out, we cannot be 100% certain about the venue location, but one field does appear to stand out as being the most suitable.
Mike Holder never does anything by halves, and lo and behold, found this entry placed in Facebook on the 10th January 2019, entitled: "Barnet, a trip down Memory Lane."
THE APRIL 1936 EVENT
The advert was placed in, and the article in two parts published, in the Hendon and Finchley Times on the 10th April 1936.
MY NOTE: I am quite certain, referring to the article above, (so perhaps or more probably mistaken), that I have not read anywhere else that C W A Scott had, in effect, taken control of the fleet operated by Sir Alan Cobham and his company from 1932 until 1935.
THE AUGUST 1936 EVENT
This article in two parts, was also published in the Hendon and Finchley Times, but on the 14th August 1936.
