Location: 2nm NNE of Ashton-in-Makerfield, 2nm SSE of Wigan town centre
Period of operation: No sign in 2005. Circa 2008/9 (?) to -
Runways:
2009= 04/22 275 grass 09/27 235 grass 18/36 265 grass
2012= 04/22 210 grass 09/27 170 grass 18/36 190 grass
2019= 04/22 225 grass 05/23 235 grass
Note: In 2019 is it possible that the 18/36 runway (215m) was still used?
NOTES: What an extraordinary discovery this was. In some ways where I would least expect to find an airstrip, let alone an airfield. As always in this 'Guide' if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
