Bannadon Farm
BANNADON FARM: Private airstrip (Aka BROADBURY)
Note: The first three pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The local area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.
Location: Just SW of Broadbury village on the A3079, about 6.5nm W of Oakhampton town centre
Period of operation: Unknown?
Runway: 07/25 Max run = 650 grass
Notes: Without any doubt neither of these aircraft listed below actually need a strip this long. But, with trees at both ends, no doubt it is a case of take-off short and land long.
NOTES: We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. He has found a picture, dated 1993, of the Piper PA-17 Vagabond, G-BDVA, taking off from here. He also tells us that the Beagle A.109 Airedale G-ASBH has been based here. The register shows it being at this address from 13.08.85 to - . So, in 2024, at the time of writing, presumably still is.
If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
