BARCLAYS FARM ESTATE: Private airstrips

Location: E of the A272, roughly 1.5nm ESE of Billingshurst town centre
Period of operation: 1990s (?) to -
Runways: As the pictures show, the mown areas do vary a bit over the years, but starting from the same point at the northern end they are more or less:

NOTES: It is astonishing just how many flying sites, and airstrips especially abound throughout this region. And, this 'Guide' will almost certainly, fail to list all of the strips, as many will have disappeared over the years. I have to thank Mr Mark Brace for pointing this site out in July 2020. He had spotted it from the train on his commute to and from work. Without much if any doubt the first contributor to this 'Guide' who had spotted a previously unlisted site from a train.
