Belvoir Castle

BELVOIR CASTLE: Temporary helicopter landing areas and temporary airfield

Note: Picture by the author of the Hughes 369HS (Hughes 500) G-LINC.

Location: 2.5nm S of the A52, 6nm WSW of Grantham

NOTES: This is the beauty of helicopters of course, just a few square metres of flattish grass can suffice to land on. On a short visit during the build-up to the huge Game Fair in July 2005 organised by the Country Land & Business Association I saw two helicopters land on two separate areas around the Belvoir Castle estate. Belvoir is pronounced “Beaver”.

In 2012, on August 18/19 the DH Moth Club International Rally was being held here. Previously, for many years, WOBURN in BEDFORDSHIRE had been the venue.
