BISHOPS COURT: Private airstrip (Aka CLYST St MARY)

Location: About 0.75nm NE of Clyst St Mary village, roughly 1.5nm SW of the centre of Exeter airport
Period of operation: Unknown, but probably mid 1960s to mid 1980s?
Runway: Given as being E/W. The first picture above only gives my estimation of where the strip may have been laid out?

NOTES: We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide' to thank for pointing out this location, and for advice of aircraft seen there.
It would appear that Mr W E Taylor, and his son, presumably Gordon C Taylor (?), indulged in the buying and selling of aircraft. Those registered to W E Taylor are marked '*', those registered to Gordon C Taylor '**'. Did they just use aircraft being traded but also for personal use - if this applies? The information to date is:

Note: G-AYPO was registered as a Piper L18C (Modified). Part of a batch of six, G-AYPM, N, O, P, R and S, purchased by the Three Counties Aero Club at BLACKBUSHE in early 1971. All, (painted yellow?), from ALAT, the French Army Light Aviation Command, Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre.
