Note: The aerial view was obtained from Google Earth ©. The local area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location:  Just SW of Barrow Street village, roughly 3nm NE of Gillingham town centre

Period of operation:   Just in 2021?

Runway:   13/31   300   grass

NOTES:   We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome.

It has been well known that in England especially, many farm strips have been laid out to be used for just a year, or two. Therefore, finding pictorial proof is often a devil of a job - usually impossible. For some reason that I cannot fathom, the dating system used by Google Earth is notoriously unreliable - but why should this be? Still, as is often said, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Very much proved in this example.

Plus, trying to locate the actual County that many flying sites are actually in, can often be a problem too. In this case the location is right on the border between WILTSHIRE and DORSET. It appears that although the farm buildings are in WILTSHIRE, the airstrip, only just to the south west, is in DORSET.
