Blacknest
BLACKNEST: Private airstrip
Note: Both of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©
Operated by: Mr J Espin
Location: Roughly 1nm S of Blacknest which is W of the A325, just W of Frith End and about 3.5 to 4nm SWW to SW of Farnham town centre
Period of operation: 2000s only?
Runway: 07/25 550 grass
NOTES: A look at the area on Google Earth in 2008 shows no sign of this airstrip. The 2017 picture appears to show all the typical signs of this airstrip, although it does not appear to be in frequent recent use. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.

We (Farnborough ATC) had no knowledge of this so next time I wemt flying I decided to take a looksee and sure enough, west of your marker and on the northern edge of the woods just south of the golf course, there was a strip. It had roughly the same QDM as the Frensham strip about 2nm to the south east and there is still a 'hangar' in the south east corner of the field. Jim Espin was the first owner of Popham and having sold it, I heard he had wanted to establish another strip which I thought was more in the vicinity of Bordon.
