BLINDLEY HEATH: Possibly an airstrip used occassionally?

Note: All pictures by the author taken in around 2014.

Location: Just W of the A.22, roughly 5nm NNW of East Grinstead

NOTES: The site of the small present day industrial estate was once the site of an aero-engine overhaul facility, (Merlins mainly it seems) and later a jet engine test facility. However, rumours suggest that visitors sometimes flew in, and indeed, an area flat enough and large enough to accept light aircraft of that era still exists to the west of the site. Can anybody now confirm this?
