NOTES: Yet another barely remembered WW2 airfield? It is perhaps rather difficult to envisage the scale of flying operations especially during the latter stages of WW2 when in 1944 something like a thousand flying sites were in regular use in the UK. 653 sites being Air Ministry official operational airfields.
