Operated by: Mr John M Wickes

Location: Just E of High Garrett village on the A131, 2nm NE of Braintree, 3nm SW of Halstead

Period of operation: 1991(?) to circa 2009

Helipad: 1998, black ‘H’ on red paved 25m circular pad, near barns in 35 acre field

Runway: 04/22   738x46   grass

Note: In 2006 the runway appears to be:   03/21    710   grass

By 2009 it seems to be:   02/20   620   grass

Runway headings do change as magnetic north goes 'walkabout', but these changes do seem unusual.

NOTES: In early 2002 I delivered the wings and other parts of the Bücker Bü131 Jungmann G-BUCC here for refurbishment, and gained permission to fly in. Something which I overlooked to do, which has often been the case.

As a warning to other pilots, if you have the opportunity to fly into various places - always do it sooner than later - you never know what the future has in store - and, you cannot turn the clock back!

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
