The aerial view was obtained from Google Earth ©. The area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location: About 1.75nm WSW of Kilrea town centre

Period of operation:  1996 to 2001?

Runway:  08/26   375    grass

NOTES:   I think it is worth retaining these comments. "Some time ago I came across a mention of an airstrip called "KILREA" with an 08/26 runway. A good look around the vicinity on Google Earth appears to reveal no obvious sign of a defined airstrip. But of course it might have been in operation many years ago. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome."

In May 2022 Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', came to our rescue. Not only did he provide an exact location, (and the name), he also tells us that the Piper PA-18 Super Cub
G-BVRZ (ex SE-ITP) was based here. A check on the G-INFO website reveals that this was from 1996 until 2001. What we do not know is if this strip was used previously?

If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome.
