Note:  The first three pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The fourth courtesy of Mr Mark Brace

Location:  Just N of the B2133, just NW of Spear Hill village, about 1.5nm N of the centre of Ashington, and 9.5nm N to NNW of Worthing town centre

Period of operation:  2016(?) to -

Runway:   01/19   620   grass

Note:  Possibly with a:  18/36   110   grass over-run at the southern end?

NOTES:  I have Mr Mark Brace to thank for pointing this airstrip out. I think this unique in that it is both recent, and especially, shows in the first picture how it was being seriously prepared with extensive groundworks. This seems to suggest, given the length of the runway, (and over-run?), that a fast 'go-places' type might be based here? A twin perhaps, or maybe a Lancair, Cirrus or Mooney or similar.

On a serious note, given the often parlous state of GA at so many licensed aerodromes, it gives much hope for the future that at least somebody is still prepared to invest in such a project. For which they deserve applause.
