BRADFORD FARM: Balloon launching site
 

Location: S of the A4, just W of Marsh Benham village, about 3nm W of Newbury town centre

Period of operation It now appears events took place here from 1973 to 1993.

NOTES: Site of the annual Icicle Hot Air Balloon Meeting and other balloon meets. There is quite a bit of information available on the internet regarding ballooning activities in this area, which is well worth looking up. This entry only serves as an introduction. For example it appears the 'Icicle' Balloon meets ran from 1973 to 2015 at several venues, spread about this area. Indeed, they might well still be taking place? (Comment 2023)

For example, other commonly used sites were Savernake Forest in WILTSHIRE, Marlborough Common in 2014  (WILTSHIRE), and Folly Dog Leg, BERKSHIRE.
