Location: 0.5nm ENE of junction 45 A1(M), N of the A64, roughly 3nm WSW of Tadcaster
Period of operation: 1916 to 1919

Site area: 198 acres 1326 x 731
NOTES: It appears that in the autumn of 1918 the personnel at RFC TADCASTER comprised: 51 officers, 120 officer pupils, 60 non-commissioned pupils, 47 Warrant Officers and Sergeants, 25 Corporals, 320 other ranks, 7 forewomen, 155 women and 54 household women.

This comment was written on: 2020-07-12 13:33:14Hi, i can give you an exact location for this airfield as i live very close, a single hanger remains on site in use as a barn and is visible from A64 about half way between the A1 junction and the first exit for Tadcaster. It is to the North of the A64 around 400 yards from the road. It is visible on google sat view as a dark structure with a curved roof.
