Brancaster Beach
BRANCASTER BEACH: Temporary Landing Ground
Note: The photograph was kindly provided by Laurence Garey. The other two pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©
Location: Just N of Brancaster village on the A149, roughly 6.5nm ENE to NE of Hunstanton town centre
Period of operation: Unknown. (Picture taken in the early 1950s)
NOTES: The Miles M38 Messenger 2A G-AIEK was owned by Arthur J Linnell of Wilby near Wellingborough from 31.10.47 to 23.02.66. But, was this a one-off visit? Or indeed, did other aircraft land here over a period of time? If anybody can kindly offer advice and information this will be most welcome.
So, just to prove a point, soon after making this listing, our eagle-eyed friend of this 'Guide', Mr Graham Frost, has pointed out to me that there appears to be a Percival Proctor parked right behind the Messenger.
Needless to say, pictures are always much appreciated.
