The first two pictures were obtained from Google Earth©. The local area and area views are from my Google Earth© derived database.

Location:  Just SE of Mockbeggar village, and also just NE of Collier Street village. About 5.5nm SSW of Maidstone town centre and about 8nm E of Tonbridge town centre.

Period of operation: Not known exactly? No sign of it on Google Earth dated 2020

Runway:   02/20   320   grass

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost. a long term friend of this 'Guide' to thank for pointing out this location.

There has been for many years the next best thing to a 'civil war' being waged by property developers, hand-in-hand with mostly local councils, to close down as many existing airfields as possible. It might well appear that they hate with a vengeance any attempt to respect our amazing aviation heritage, but I suspect it is just a simple combination, obvious since WW2, of ignorance and greed.

Unlike every other country in Europe, who have made massive efforts at great expense to restore their old town and city centres, these people have inflicted far more damage than the Luftwaffe bombing raids in WW2.
