Braunstone Park

Note: This map only gives the position of Braunstone Park within the UK. If anybody can kindly provide advice as to where in the Park these aircraft operated from, this will be much appreciated.

BRAUNSTONE PARK: Military landing ground

Military user: US 82nd Airborne Division HQ Artillery with liaison aircraft

Location: Roughly 3nm SW of Leicester City centre, S of the A47 and E of the A563

Period of operation: 1944/5

NOTES: One Piper L-4 and one Stinson L-5 were based here it seems.

It appears that BRAUNSTONE PARK is quite seperate from the nearby BRAUNSTONE (LEICESTER) AIRPORT.
