BRECHIN: Temporary aerodrome? (Aka MIDDLE DRUM)

Location: About 1.75nm SSW to SW of Brechin town centre and roughly 8nm W of Montrose town centre
NOTES: We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. It is perhaps likely that the layout of the fields has changed somewhat over the last ninety years? (Comment added in 2024)
The reason I have put a question mark behind "Temporary aerodrome" is simply because, in so many cases not now listed, quite a lot of such sites were visited by pilots on a casual basis every now and again. In effect, but not quite, attaining Landing Ground status in those days.
If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
