BROCK'S FARM: Private airstrip, later also model flying (Aka NAPPSFIELD)

Runway(s): (My original notes) E/W Originally 512 metres, extended in 1999 to 595 metres grass
Note: Looking at Google Earth images it would appear that the 08/26 runway was 520 metres long until about 2009. The 2010 picture above shows the extension to 610 metres at the eastern end.
Of interest it appears that in the 2008 picture there is a 05/23 runway of 380 metres, plus what seems to be a runway for models: 12/30 200 grass
MODEL FLYING
The detail picture, dated January 2020, clearly shows several model aircraft being prepared. I think is a great credit, presumably to Mr Napp, that model flying is allowed at this airstrip. I have often wondered why other airstrip operators don't get together with model flying clubs as the joint activities must surely offer several joint benefits.
NOTES: I don’t expect any sympathy but look at this situation which I wrote up in 2003. "I have found mentions of BROCKS FARM and STOCK FARM, and concluded they must surely have been almost next door to each other. Almost totally convinced they were indeed two separate farm strips operated in the 1980s at least. It certainly didn’t help to find that BROCKS FARM is near Stock village which presumably STOCK FARM is named after?"
Imagine my delight to discover in March 2007 a mention in Popular Flying from Mr Bob Napp saying he operates BROCK’S FARM at Stock in Essex where he had nearly finished building the Vans RV-7 G-NAPP. It now appears that STOCK FARM is actually BROCK FARM. In an e-mail Robert told me he first used the strip with his MS880B Rallye G-AYZZ on the 30th May in 1984, except that his good friend Eddy Coventry flew in three weeks previously in his Piper Arrow G-EDDY.
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
In the Feburary 2017 edition of Light Aviation magazine, in the 'Safety Spot' section, it is listed as "Napps Field".

This comment was written on: 2019-08-16 18:29:28I used to know a Robert Napp when I went to either Ingatestone or Bilericay schools in the 1960's. I remember he was a farmers son and that he had a particular talent for freehand drawing. Is this the same person.
