BROOMHOUSE FARM: Temporary aerodrome

Location: Corstorphine, roughly 2nm E of EDINBURGH, (TURNHOUSE), airport.
Period of operation: 1st October 1932
NOTES: Due the close proximity to TURNHOUSE it does today beg the question if this venue was the same place as TURNHOUSE, which was already recognised as an established aerodrome since 1915. As was often the case, due to paying lesser fees, the 'Flying Circus' concerns often arranged to use a convenient field nearby an established aerodrome. In this case it would seem the Cobham tour organisers did indeed select another place other than the regional airport. Can you imagine something similar happening today?
On the 22nd and 23rd July 1933 Cobham’s No.2 Tour displayed in/near Edinburgh. Did they use use this location for their 90th venue that year?
