Operated by:  Mr Peter Beck

Location: E of the B1159, roughly 1.5nm N of Stalham.  About 13nm NE of Norwich city centre

Period of operation: 1963 to 1971

Runway:   N/S   510 x 30   grass

NOTES:  I had this location listed for many years but with very little detail. We have to thank Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide' for adding much extra information.

For example, Mr Peter Beck had the Auster J/5G Cirrus Autocar, G-ARKG, (ex AP-AHJ), registered to this address from 06.06.61 to 19.06.61 - barely a fortnight. Did he fly it into here? Perhaps but doubtful?

What seems certain is that he based his Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee, G-ASIJ, purchased new from CSE Aviation at OXFORD, (KIDLINGTON), registered to him at this address from 31.10.63 until 15.08.68. This was replaced by the Piper PA-28R-180 Cherokee Arrow, G-AWFJ, registered from 08.12.69, (nice Xmas present no doubt), until 14.12.71. Then it seems the airstrip was no longer used.
