Bryn Estyn

Note: This map only gives a rough location of this site within the UK. If anybody could kindly offer a more exact location, this advice will be most welcome.

BRYN ESTYN: Gliding site and ‘unofficial?’ military Landing Ground

Military user: 5 FTS     RAF SEALAND

Operated by: The Wrexham Gliding Club

Location: Presumably near Wrexham, perhaps fairly close to the Wrexham Rugby site today?

Period of operation: 1930s

NOTES: There appears to be an accurate record stating that 5 FTS based at RAF SEALAND used a field or fields near BRYN ESTYN for “circuits and bumps”.
