Notes: The first two pictures were taken by the author, in the drizzle on a July morning. The third and fourth and fourth being obtained from Google Earth © . These seem to indicate that probably the model flying site was being used since circa 2017?

Operated by: The Tiger Club in 1980

Model flying:  1066 Model Flying Club   (Since 2017?)

Note. I can find, on Google Earth, no evidence of a defined model flying site, as in the 2018 picture above. But of course, model flying could well have been taking place here for several years before?

Location: Public park, roughly 2nm W of Hastings town centre

Period of operation: One day only flying display 13.07.80.

NOTES: Ken Wallis also took part displaying his ‘James Bond’ film Little Nellie autogyro. Another Tiger Club member who happened to be flying a Coast Guard Islander in the vicinity landed to see what was going on! Those were still the days when pilots could do such things.

When calling in July 2018, to take these pictures, I had a chat with a man opening up the site. He told me that the last air show with aircraft landing here, took place around twenty years before. And, he confirmed that model flying still takes place.
