BURDON HEAD FARM:  Private airstrip(s) in two adjacent fields

Note:  Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', has pointed out that the correct spelling is BURDEN HEAD FARM.

Location:  4.5nm ENE to NE of LEEDS/BRADFORD airport, 7nm S of Harrogate town centre

Period of operation:  Circa 2004/5 (?) to circa 2016 (?)

Runways:  2006:   07/25   565   grass                08/26   555   grass      (North field)

                 2009:   07/25   460   grass       (South field)

NOTES:  I have Mr Karel Adams to thank for pointing this site out. Karel is a great friend of this 'Guide' and, living in Belgium, he gives me constant advice including correcting my typos.

What an interesting site this is - clock the very narrow runways in 2006. The later runway in the field to the south was well marked, with runway end and side markers.

This might be pure fantasy of course, but I suppose the question must be asked? The ITV very popular show 'Emmerdale' location, (which I have never seen), is just to the east. They have even built a 'village' for the filming. Could it be that somebody involved was also a keen pilot?

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
