BUSHEY HALL GOLF COURSE: Temporary Landing Site

NOTES: A picture exists taken on the 14th Oct 1911 of Gustav Hamel with his flying machine, (almost certainly a Blériot?), posed on the 5th tee and it appears he had flown in from HENDON in 5½ minutes.

To date no other information seems available to explain the circumstances surrounding this occasion but judging from the size of the group of people surrounding him, it was probably simply a social visit?
