Miltary users: RAF Training Command         51 Group

EFTS  (Elementary Flying Training School)


Location:  Roughly 2nm N of Carlisle town centre, W of the A7 in those days.

Period of operation:   1933 to 1957


Runways:   NW/SE   914   grass            NE/SW   914   grass


NOTES: This small training airfield had nothing to do with the much more well known WW2 airfield at CROSBY-on-EDEN, now known as CARLISLE AIRPORT.
