Note:  All four of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The helicopter in the detail picture is an Agusta A109a, ZE412, 'borrowed' Graham Frost tells us, from the Argentine Air Force.

Operations:  658 Sqdn AAC  (Westland Gazelle AH.1 & Eurocopter AS365N3 Dauphin II)

Location:  S of the A480, just SE of Credenhill village, about 4nm WNW to NW of Hereford city centre

Period of operation:  From about 1999 to -

Runway:  08/26   150   hard

NOTES:  This site, also known as Stirling Lines, was opened in 1999 as a new base for the SAS, (Special Air Services). Training in helicopter operations clearly being given, since opening, as something of a priority. Initially, as the pictures above show, only an apron was provided, with the runway being added later.

As always, any advice and information will be much appreciated.
