Have to say that I will never understand how economics work. Am informed by the press and media, that in effect, for many years the U.K. is basically bankrupt. But, a country can never be bankrupt! We keep hearing by the experts in economics, "employed" by the press and media, just how bad a state this country is in. Drive along any motorway in the U.K. and it is very hard to believe.

One of the great success stories in recent years are the Air Ambulance services, largely supported it seems by public donations. Same as with the RNLI operating a lifeboat service. Being a simple minded soul, cannot work out why these essential services, especially in more times, are not backed by our government?
