As one that helped buidling the airfield, I do (deep in my archive!), have some images from when we built the airport, and possibly some prose about why andf when. I also visited the airfield with my DHC-6/300 Twin Otter LN-BNS, on our way to the Farnborough Airshow 1984. At Felixkirk we visited my old employer Farm Supply Co. (Thirsk) Ltd., and also Harry woodhead up at the village. Our technician at the time was late John Whiting of Bagby, keeping his Witman Tailwind at the airport. If interested, reply by mail! Happy flying! Harald (Norwegian, now living in Denmark, near BLL).
