Freeman Hospital
FREEMAN HOSPITAL: Hospital helicopter landing area
Note: This picture was obtained from Google Earth ©
Location: S of Benton Park Road, E of Freeman Road, roughly 2nm NNE of Newcastle-upon-Tyne city centre
NOTES: Perhaps somewhat oddly, a good look at this site on Google Earth in 2017, failed to identify a clearly marked helipad. If anybody can offer advice, this will be most welcome.

To my knowledge, as a previous patient and frequent return visitor, there is a "helipad" for the Freeman Hospital and is here: 55°00'02.0"N 1°35'49.6"W It is right next to a small pay and display car park where there are signs asking you not to obstruct access as it is required for emergencies. It is a grass landing pad and I have never known the site be used. It is only 2.9 miles from the RVI. The Freeman hospital though does do Liver and Heart transplants, amongst others so I can imagine that emergency access might be used.
