These three pictures are from my Google Earth © derived database. Note that we do not know which field the strip was laid out in, except that it was on the south side of the B1010.

Operated by:  Mr WH 'Bill' Cole

Location
:  Just SE of Hazeleigh. This village is on the B1010, about 1nm S of the A414 and roughly 2.5nm SW of Maldon

Period of operation: 1970s only?

NOTES: It appears that this airstrip was laid out by Bill Cole after he had built, and registered on the 14th October 1969, his Mignet HM293 Flying Flea, G-AXPG. He later moved to SPILSTEAD FARM near Battle in Sussex. Presumably taking G-AXPG with him?

A NOTE OF CAUTION
Some time ago I made these notes:  In the mid 1970s it appears that four aircraft were based here; Jodel D.9 Bebe G-AWFT, Leopoldoff L-7 G-AYKS, Jodel D.120 G-AZLF and Scintex C.301 C1 Emeraude G-AZYS. Would I be correct in thinking that this is the same airstrip as that laid out by Bill Cole?

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
