Location: Just S of East Orchard village and roughly 3.5nm SSW of Shaftesbury town centre
Period of operation: 1965 to 1968 only?
NOTES: We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. He tells us that Mr R J Moody had the Auster J/1N Alpha, G-AGYD, registered to this address from 29.04.65 until 17.07.68. But I would ask - was it actually based here?
The field Graham has nominated has a 16/34 run of 260 metres, which I suppose is useable for an Auster Alpha? I would think that the much larger field just to the west with a N/S run of 340 metres would have been preferable. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
