Hill Farm

NOTE:  Listed below are two listings for HILL FARM gleaned over the last twenty years. It would seem obvious they are the same site, but experience has taught me to be very wary of jumping to easy conclusions. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.

HILL FARM: Private airstrip     (also known as MARTON & NEW ELLERBY)

Aerial view 2003
Aerial view 2003
Aerial view 2018
Aerial view 2018

Note: Both of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location: Just N of Marton, E of the A165, roughly 7nm NNE to NE of Hull

Period of operation: 1970s & 1980s only?

Runway:  2003:  18/36   320   grass

Note: With reference to the site liste below, it would appear, looking at the Google Earth pictures, that this runway could well have been longer?

NOTES: In the mid 1970s it appears two aircraft were based here; Jodel D.117A G-ASXY and Bolkow Bo 208C Junior G-ATDO
