Note: This map only shows the position of Hirwaun within the UK. If anybody can kindly provide a more exact location, this advice will be much appreciated.

Military user: US Army 322nd Field Artillery Battalion
Location: Presumably in/near Hirwaun roughly 6nm W of Merthyr Tydfil, 5nm N of Treorchy
Period of operation: Presumably in or around 1944?
NOTES: In the so called “County” of RHONDDA CYNON TAFF today - and what a damned nonsense this is!
So, as far as I am concerned it is situated in GLAMORGAN - the original County. The original Counties of the UK still exist, and it appears that an act of parliament is needed to change the name and/or boundaries.
