Operated by:  Watkiss Group Aviation

Location:  Just NW of the Biggleswade South Roundabout on the A1, just S of Biggleswade town centre and roughly 10nm ESE to SE of Bedford town centre

Period of operation:  Not known (?) but probably around 1976 to 1993

Runway:  Again not known exactly?  Possibly 09/27 and about 560 metres?  grass

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide' to thank for pointing out this location.

Watkiss Group Aviation operated two aircraft it appears. The Reims Cessna F182Q G-EMMA from 29.05.79 to 10.03.93, and the Reims Cessna F172N G-BHIH from 01.04.80 until 27.03.90.

The crash of G-EMMA in early 1993, nearby due to engine problems on short finals, resulting in it being withdrawn from use, probably signifies when use of this airstrip ended?

A BIT MORE INFO
In 2023 Graham Frost discovered that Watkiss Group Aviation had previously operated the Reims Cessna F172E Skyhawk, G-ASNW, here from 04.10.76 until 25.03.80. Which brings forward our estimation of when this strip was operating by a further three years.
