Note: This location has been given as being on the "Ashby Road", but that doesn't exist officially. It was no doubt a term applied locally to the Ashburton Road and Grange Road.
Period of operation: 1st to 13th April 1921

We have Mike Holder, a great long-term friend of this 'Guide', to thank for looking into this venue and providing most of the following items.
AN ARTICLE
Mike discovered this article, (provided here in four parts to make it easier to read), which was published in the Coalville Times on the 8th April 1921.
NOTES:
The UK has an aviation heritage without equal anywhere else in the world - so why is it mostly ignored? Or indeed, in official local government and national government circles, mostly a heritage to be denigrated. But, why? These three pictures, from my Google Earth© derived database will only give a rough idea as many of the flying sites in this 'Guide' have not been 'pegged'. And, even after researching this project for over a quarter of a century in 2026, I am still adding new locations on average every week.
BEHIND THE SCENES WORKINGS
I think it will be well worthwhile to show, with this example, just how much effort and time Mike Holder goes to on our behalf to establish a location. In the article above the only clue given is Mr David Moore's field. I expect that very few, if any, living around here today will know of it - even if they actually live on it! Mike discovered this Notice published in the Leicester Daily Mercury on the 19th March 1914, concerning Urban Council Elections. So, now we know, the address was GLEBE FARM.
