Note:  In November 2022 I was kindly contacted by Mr Mark Taylor who pointed out that after the first site closed, another strip appeared just to the north-west by roughly 500 metres.

The local view is from my Google Earth © derived database and shows the proximity of these two locations.

Location:  Just SW of Illington, about 1.5nm SE of Wretham village, roughly 6nm NE of Thetford town centre

Period of operation:  ?   First site:   Early 2000s only, circa 2006?

Second site:  According to Google Earth pictures nothing existed here in 2006, so, presumably this strip was laid out at some time after the first site closed?

Runway:   (First site)     08/26   610   grass        (Second site)    09/27   700   grass

NOTES:  It is well known that many farm strips exist for only a short period of time, some less than a year. So, it was nice to be able to feature this one, (ILLINGTON HOUSE (1), especially with an aircraft in view. I suspect that this one lasted for a couple of years or more perhaps? We do not know for certain, but presumably the second site, (with hangar), is operated by the same person/people?
