Note: The map was provided by Mr Graham Frost. The area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.

Operated by:  Mr Charles L Bendall

Location: Just W of Denmead village centre, roughly 2nm NW of Waterlooville town centre

Period of operation: Unknown? Certainly from 1947 until 1952

Runway:  Probably not a defined strip? Suspect most movements orientated in a roughly E/W direction which allows around 300 metres. Described as being "a tight strip".

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for providing this location.

He tells us that the Taylorcraft Auster 5, G-AIPE (ex TJ347) was used here. A quick delve shows it was indeed registered to Mr Charles L Bendall at this address, from 30.12.47 until 22.054.52. A photograph exists of G-AIPE on this field, (the farm buildings can be seen in the background), but it has copyright markings splayed across it. (See the 'topfoto' collection). It was later sold, soon afterwards, in The Netherlands as PH-NET.

We do not know if a hangar was erected so that it could be kept here? Or based elsewhere.

If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
