Knowsley Park

Note: This map gives a pretty good idea of where, in Knowsley Park - now a Safari Park - the SLG was located. I have Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust UK to thank for providing this location.

KNOWSLEY PARK: Satellite Landing Ground

Military user: 49 SLG (RAF)

37 MU (Maintenance Unit), later 48 MU

Location: Roughly 7nm ENE of Liverpool city centre, 4nm W of St Helens town centre

Period of operation: 1941 to 1944

NOTES: Is it now known what types of aircraft were in open storage here?
