In February 2026 Mike Holder investigated the history of this location further and discovered evidence of three more events. These being two one day displays organised by Mr Geoffrey Mander on the 2nd September 1920 and the 25th August 1921. These were followed by the Berkshire Aviation Company arriving on the 27th March and staying until the 6th April 1922.
1920
The Advert One was placed in the Kington Times on the 31st July 1920 and the Article One in four parts, (below), was published, also in the Kington Times, but on the 4th September 1920.
1921
The Advert Two was placed in the Kington Times on the 20th August 1921 and the Article Two, in two parts, appeared on the 27th August 1921.
1922
The Article Three was published, once again in the Kington Times, on the 25th March 1922. The Article Four report appeared in The Aeroplane on the 12th April 1922. The local area and area views are from my Google Earth© derived database.
NOTES: I had certainly not expected to find this much aviation activity occurring in Leominster in the early 1920s, but then again I have been constantly surprised over the years about just how much had been going on, around the U.K. even prior to WW1. So, I will now expect, (and not be surprised), to find yet more evidence of flying happening here between 1922 and the arrival of Cobham No.2 Tour in 1933. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
