A QUERY?
It has always been the purpose of this 'Guide' to pose questions rather than attempting to provide answers. Often the subject can be very 'anoraky' as in this case, but I like to think that a light-hearted approach to this 'Guide' is also welcome at times.
In 2023 Mr Graham Frost, a long term friend of the 'Guide' pointed out to me that the Percival P.34 Proctor 3 G-AHFK (ex LZ768), was registered to Mr Alec J Spiller at Hawthorn Lodge, Great Staughton, from 06.08.58 until 21.06.63. So, where was it based? Did he have an airstrip nearby, (which seems quite possible?), or was it more likely based at LITTLE STAUGHTON just to the south?
There are no medals, gongs or certificates to be awarded of course, but if anybody can kindly provide information this will be much appreciated.
On a more serious note, this 'Guide', in 2026 over a quarter of a century in the making, (an impossible task of course), is very much intended to reflect just how incredibly complex our unique aviation history is.
