NOTES:  The more I learn about this period, just after WW1, the more interesting it becomes. There were a large number of people, not just pilots, who, having become heavily engaged in aviation during the war, were very keen to keep themselves involved one way or another. To aid this there was a huge surplus of aircraft awaiting disposal, with many hundreds being scrapped. Alongside which other examples with next to no time logged, were being sold off at very reasonable prices.

The favourite being the Avro 504 variants, especially the 504K and 504N. The Avro company, along with all the other manufacturers, suffering from huge cancellations of orders, not only set up their own joy-riding operation, but offered their conversions of these types to three-seaters to other operaters too. Clearly at least two being sold to Aerial Photos Ltd based in Edinburgh.

Note:  This area view is from my Google Earth © based database. Perhaps it might interest you to learn that during my research, I have just over one thousand flying sites listed, used within the U.K. during WW1. Most of which were never used again. Indeed, and this is a good example, new flying sites were being used, often for short periods, all around the U.K. A trend that continued, especially with the 'Flying Circus' operators, almost up until WW2.
