Operated by:   Mr David J Pilkington

Location:  Just N of Goosnargh village, roughly 5nm NNE of Preston city centre

Period of operation:  2015 to 2018  (only?)

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. He tells us that he believes the field shown above is the field used by Mr Pilkington. The field is orientated roughly east-west and offers landing runs of between 250 to 300 metres, not that anything like this was required.

Mr Pilkington built the Aviad Zigolo MG12 and registered it as G-CIUF from September 2015 until October 2018. It is a single seat SSDR type which means it is unregulated. It can be de-rigged fairly quickly for storage in about an hour. Also, with such a machine, there would be no requirement to use a prepared strip.

Indeed, with a cruise speed of 41mph, a stall speed of 22mph and a max. take-off weight of 220kg, plus a wing area of 170 sq ft, (a Cessna 152 has 160 sq ft), I imagine it can comfortably operate from a 100 metre mown strip?

If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
