NOTES
In the January edition of Light Aviation magazine, an interesting story is told by Nigel Hitchman. It appears that when an Avro Avian of the 1920s had been restored, by Lang Kidby in the USA to replicate the flight by Bert Hinkler to Australia and shipped it across to the UK, a few days after appearing at the PFA Rally in July 1998, he crashed it here. Incredibly, with a lot of help, it was rebuilt in just eight weeks, so that he could attend the Farnborough air show in September.

The 2018 picture above appears to show the airstrip is no longer used.

Is any more known about this location? It now appears that this location was the site for Hawker Restorations, in particular Hawker Hurricane restoration.

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
