Newent

Note: This map only shows the position of Newent within the UK. If anybody can kindly offer advice about the location used for this venue, this will be much appreciated.

NEWENT: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Berkshire Aviation Company

Location: ?  Newent is on the junction of the B4216 and the B4215

Period of operation:  27th September to the 14th October 1922

NOTES:  It appears they performed here during the 'Gloucester Barton Fair'.

NEWENT: Two private microlight strips

NOTES: It appears that at least in 2005 there were two private microlight strips in the vicinity of Newent, very roughly 8nm NW of Gloucester according to the AAIB report EW/G2005/07/17.

NOTES:   A good look around Newent on Google Earth, (image date 2005), appeared to reveal these potential sites. But, it must be emphasised - this is purely my guess-work. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.

Newent No.1 (01/19   356) was situated roughly 1.5nm SE of Newent

Newent No.2  (03/21   405)  was situated roughly 2nm W of Newent

In both cases neither existed, (if they did exist of course), for very long. Perhaps two to three years.
