Note: All three of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location:  Just NW of Nynehead village, about 1.5nm NW of Wellington

Period of operation:  Hard to say - no sign in 2001. Definitely established from 2006 to 2010. Still evident in diminished form in 2018?

Runway: 2006:   09/27   820   grass
(2018:   If still used -   09/27   715   grass)

NOTES:  I came across this airstrip whilst searching for somewhere else, and quite frankly do not know what name it should be known by? But, I have found a reference to NYNEHEAD, and so I'll use this.

It is quite unusual to find a well laid out strip of 820 metres with no apparent facilities, such as a hangar. This said the 2006 picture does show a large mown area at the S/E corner giving access to the farm/trading estate. This is not evident in the 2010 picture.

All in all a bit of a mystery? If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
